Established as a mission in 1972, the congregation was able to build a church in 1981 and had the first full time Vicar appointed in 1982.

Dedicated on Saint Andrew's Day, November 30, 1897, Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church was originally designated as a mission. In 1985, it petitioned to become a parish within the Diocese of Quincy.

Founded originally to raise funds for the restoration of the Church of the Epiphany church building, it later expanded its mission to encompass restoration of any Episcopal church in the Chicago Diocese

The church started in 1872 meeting in homes first and then in a church building located at 203 S. Kensington Ave., LaGrange, IL starting in 1874. It became a parish in 1874 and has remained at the Kensington Ave. address since. In 1924 the church was destroyed in a fire. It was rebuilt in two years. The building is an historic site in LaGrange. The church is known for the organ and stained glass windows in addition to the building.
