St. Thomas in Morris started in 1852 and existed in some fashion until 1890 when the final push to resuscitated the church failed. The land was sold and there was no Episcopal presence in Morris, Il until 1934. At that time a small band of parishoners reconstituted as St. Thomas and met in various locations until able to build a church in 1949. They were debt free and admitted to the Diocese of Chicago in 1955. The parish continues at this time.
