In 1893, the existing mission called "All Saints" was changed to Saint Chrysostom's Mission. Later it became Saint Chrysostom's Church.

Saint Martha's Church was established in 1957 as a mission, holding services in various schools in the area. In 1960, services were suspended and parishioners were advised to attend other local Episcopal churches.

The church became a mission in 1877, a parish in 1887 and the building was consecrated in 1890 when the debt was paid off.

The mission was organized in 1951, and had grown enough to become a parish in 1961. In 1959, a permanent church building was erected. By 2006, the congregation had dwindled to the point where the church closed at the end of the year.

Founded May 18, 1876 by Mr. J. J. White on the corner of Lawndale and 24th streets as the Mission of the Good Shepherd within the Diocese of Illinois. A new church building was built in 1901. It was incorporated as the Church of the Good Shepherd in the Diocese of Chicago in 1902. The church closed in March 1945.
