History

While services began in homes in Blue Island, Illinois in 1902, it was discontinued in 1906, because several key families moved away. Restarting in 1918, it was formally recognized by the Diocese of Chicago as an active mission in 1921. It continued to exist and grow until 1974 when it merged with Saint Joseph's Church (Chicago, Ill) to form Saint Joseph's and Saint Aidan's Church (Blue Island, Ill)
